Frank Yan and the Drive for his first BMW

In Frank Yan’s past years in Sacramento he has owned both BMW’s and Mercedes.  Frank Yan is a true fan of these luxuries vehicles, however likes one better than the other.  In Frank Yan’s days working at the Sacramento Int’l Airport, Frank Yan’s goal was to one day own one of his favorite car, the BMW 540i. While working hard towards his goal, Frank Yan in his early 20’s worked as a Skycap checking passengers at curbside for various airlines. Frank collected gratuities from passengers that flew out from Sacramento.  Frank collected from 200-400 per day in gratuities which he was able to not only pay his way to his dream of owning his first BMW, but it allowed him to put himself through college at American River College and Sacramento State. Frank had always had his eye on BMW, as one of his friends, Hamed, whom is now a successful Chiropractor convinced Frank to make his first purchase.  Hamed’s father who own Global House of Imports, located in Sacramento was a wholesale car dealer/ broker and assisted Frank on picking out the right BMW for him. During Frank’s ownership of his BMW 540i, Frank in his early years of a young adult was intrigued in BMW’s Baravian Motor Works of the brand HAMANN.  HAMANN is primarily known for its high end tuning, which Frank installed various components such as a muffler, air intake manifold, struts, suspension, body kit, and added M Parallel wheels. This modified vehicle was a dream come true for Frank as he began to enter Sacramento’s Euro Sundays and many fun run drives with his friends.  Frank Yan held this vehicle for about 5 years until he got into a fatal accident on Interstate 5, Southbound when a drunk driver collided into him on the freeway.  When the California Highway Patrol came to the scene, they mentioned that if Frank was in a different vehicle he would have been fatally injured or possibly be dead. Due to the impact to the side impact beams being reinforced with multiple restraint systems and the quality construction of the BMW, Frank believes that the craftsmanship of the BMW saved his life.  Many would say that buying an expensive car is a huge mistake, which Frank to this day agrees. However Frank has learned and respected the quality and craftsmanship on how these BMW’s are engineered and built.  Frank believes in German ingenuity as he has owned both Mercedes and several BMW’s.
